The Modern Honolulu, a Hilton Vacation Club, is a beautiful luxury escape in the heart of Waikiki. The soft white tones and natural material of the modern chic interior and exterior combine beautifully with the tropical plants and palm trees, the delicate white and lilac flowers, the turquoise water of the swimming pool and the sparkling blue Pacific Ocean. In my turquoise bikini, I’m sitting on one of the comfy daybeds next to the lazy pool, looking around in this little piece of paradise and I’m feeling all the butterflies. A soft ocean breeze, the turquoise ocean, the sun shimmering through the tropical leaves… Nani kēia lā, are lovely words from the Hawaiian language that may describe these sweet moments of daily luxury, this day is beautiful.
The beautiful interior design of the Modern Honolulu is modern, chic and classy, seamlessly mixing Hawaiian heritage with casual island vibes. The coastal chique interior is designed with elegant wooden shutters, a never-ending bookcase and beautiful seashells, and casually dressed down with a modern work of art made from surfboards and amazing graffiti from POW! WOW! Hawaii. The swimming pool area is a beautiful place to relax, with two swimming pools and cozy daybeds, surrounded by a lush tropical garden. The Grove restaurant, next to the swimming pool, offers delicious food and drinks in a lovely atmosphere. The Modern Honolulu offers modern, comfy rooms with timeless views on Waikiki Beach and the blue Pacific Ocean.
The beautiful setting of the Modern Honolulu on Ala Moana Blvd and Waikiki Beach is truly perfect. You can go anywhere from here, to all sides of the islands. From the hotel you can easily walk to Waikiki beach and spend a day in the sun or holoholo along the coast to the beautiful city center, Waikiki beach walk, International Market Place (built around a Banyan tree) and Duke’s statue. There are so many places, restaurants and boutiques to visit here. My favorite restaurants are Orchids (try the coconut cake!) and Hula Grill (try the ceviche and tuna tacos). The Rock-a-Hula show is a modern hula show with music from the 1920’s to the present day, starring the music from Elvis and Michael Jackson.
Ala Moana shopping center, on the other side of the Modern Honolulu, is a beautiful outdoor shopping mall with luxury boutiques, for example Dior, Tiffany’s, and Bloomingdales, and lovely cafés, restaurants and local boutiques, for example Honolulu Coffee Co. (try the strawberry matcha and the macadamia nut coffee), Honolulu cookie company (try the delicious pineapple-shaped shortbread cookies with macadamia, white chocolate and coconut), the Japanese-style bakery Brug (try the melon pan and the mochi donuts) and the home store SoHa Living (you will want to take it all home with you, including the very cute SoHa keiki collection).
The islands of Hawai’i are all dreamy destinations. The beautiful islands are connected by daily flights by Hawaiian airlines, for example from O’ahu to Maui and Kaua’i. The island of O’ahu really has it all though, from the beautiful city of Honolulu to the natural beauty of the island with waterfalls, tropical flora, and black lava beaches. The Modern Honolulu is set in a beautiful location and offers a lovely home base for city explorations and island escapes, for example to Diamond Head, Manoa Falls and Hanauma Bay.
The beautiful setting of the Modern Honolulu and the cozy feeling of home always make me come back to the very same place. I can’t wait for you to experience this beautiful hotel in the heart of Waikiki. You can book your own dream vacation at the Modern Honolulu via: The Modern Honolulu, A Hilton Vacation Club.
